Having all the data at your finger tips will not fix your problems. The data is just part of the information you have to make great decisions about process and performance.
What you need to be doing is using that data to inform the people it relates to and getting your hands dirty by spending time on the floor with the people and match the data to the actual doing!
Information mined from systems and presented in spreadsheets works well to present information in a format for those who read it to get an idea of what is happening within the process. But the only way to actually get a real world view is to be in the process! Sharing that information with the people who do the doing can help them make informed decisions about improvements or changes needed.
Your people are your best source of data, be sure to engage with them before making change.
